Process Guide

  1. Nominations are open for all categories. The deadline for all entries is on Friday 13th September 2019.  Anyone can nominate an individual or organisation in any of the categories.  You can nominate for more than one category.

2. The shortlist will be announced public on Monday 23rd September and voting will be opened to the general public on the same day.  The voting will close on Friday 4th October 2019.

3. A panel of independent judges will review the shortlist. The judging will take place over 2 days. All the finalists in the business categories will be interviewed on day 1. On day 2 the judges will be going through the applications and supporting evidence for the other categories.

4. The winners will be announced on Saturday 9th November at a glittering ceremony at the Library of Birmingham.

FAQs

How do I nominate?

Nominating someone or yourself is quick and easy, simply navigate to the nominate tab at the top of the screen and fill out the online form. A confirmation e-mail will be sent confirming your nomination.

What do I do after I have nominated?

It is recommended that you tell the nominee that you have put them forward for the award, so that they are aware that we will be communicating with them for additional information in regards to their application.

We shall contact the nominee via email confirming your nomination along with there nomination badge which they can use to promote on social media/marketing campaigns.

At this stage the nominee will also have the opportunity to send across any additional information to help support there application for the shortlist process.

Can people vote for me?

Yes people can vote for you and the judges will take this into consideration, however this will not be the only criteria that will be judged.

Is there an age restriction?

Yes, you must be 18+ in order to be nominated for any category apart from ‘Young Achievers Award’. The age restriction for the ‘Young Achievers Award’ is between 16-30 years of age.

How many people will be shortlisted per category?

This will be 5 finalists per category.

How do I know I have been shortlisted?

You will receive an email confirming you are a finalist along with your finalist badge. We shall also announce the shortlist on our website furthermore you shall be contacted from the Birmingham Awards Team.

Can I nominate myself/someone for more than one category?

Yes, you can nominate yourself or someone else for more than one category if they meet the criteria.

Do finalists get a complimentary ticket?

As a finalist you are entitled to ONE complimentary ticket and additional tickets can be purchased through the website. If you purchase a table of 10 with your complimentary ticket your table becomes 11.

What do I get for my ticket?

Ticket includes:

Reception drinks and canapes

3 course meal with tea & coffee

Live entertainment

Awards after party

What is the dress code?

This is a black tie event.
