We are excited to announce that Birmingham City University has been confirmed as a headline sponsor. Regarding the awards, the University said “BCU are honoured to be a part of such a great event, Birmingham Awards not only brings together the region but also recognises the talent within Birmingham. It is very important that we celebrate the success of West Midlands. We also enjoy connecting businesses to Education, Research and Innovation.”

Other giants to support and sponsor the awards are Pathway Group, South and City College, Highline and Hollywood Monster. Esteemed ambassadors include Tim Andrews, Jas Sansi, Gary Poulton, PJ Ellis, Headz Up Business and Tag Network Midlands.

The Birmingham Awards is a platform designed to showcase and celebrate the talent of the city, giving due thanks and recognition to the unique individuals that make it the vibrant, bubbling city it is.

Known for its diversity and eccentricity, Birmingham has cultivated a reputation for innovation and creativity and is now one of the most remarkable places to live, work and play.

There are 20 prestigious awards up for grabs including sport, retail, community and education. One lucky individual will also be presented with the coveted ‘Brummie of the Year’ award on the night.

There has also been an additional two new award categories added ‘Excellence in Media’ and ‘Innovation in Technology’.

The Retailer award has now been split to take into account smaller retailers. So the two categories are ‘National Retailer’ & ‘Independent Retailer’.

Winners will be announced at the glittery black tie ceremony at The Vox Conference Centre on Saturday 10th September.

Anita Chumber, one of the Co-Founders of the awards said, “The Birmingham Awards is the perfect platform to reward those truly remarkable individuals, businesses and organisations that consistently go the extra mile to ensure Birmingham continues to flourish.”

Tickets for the event are available to purchase through the Birmingham Awards website.

As well as recognising the achievements of Birmingham, the Birmingham Awards will be raising money for LoveBrum, a charity which invests in grassroots projects across the city.
