Birmingham Honours Ozzy Osbourne with Posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award at the City’s 10th Birmingham Awards

The 10th Birmingham Awards delivered one of its most emotional and unforgettable moments in the event’s decade-long history, as the city came together to honour its very own Ozzy Osbourne with a Lifetime Achievement Award, presented posthumously to his daughter Kelly Osbourne.
Accepting the award on behalf of her late father, Kelly moved the audience to tears with a deeply personal and heartfelt speech.
“Birmingham made my dad who he was,” she said. “He never forgot where he came from, and this city was always in his heart. On behalf of our family, thank you for honouring him in the place he loved most.”
Her words captured the spirit of the evening – a celebration not just of Ozzy’s legendary career and global influence, but of his unbreakable connection to the city that shaped him.
“It was amazing to have Kelly Osbourne with us to accept this honour,” said organisers Ifraz Ahmed and Anita Chumber of B Events and founders of Birmingham Awards. “Ozzy’s impact on the world is immeasurable, but his roots will always be here in Birmingham. His legacy continues to inspire generations, and we are deeply proud to recognise his contribution to music, culture, and our city.”
This milestone year marked ten years of the Birmingham Awards, a decade of celebrating unity, pride, and progress across the city. Hosted by PJ Ellis and Tim Andrews, the 10th edition was a spectacular tribute to Birmingham’s people, culture, and creativity.
The Headline Sponsor for this landmark year was Aston University, with University of Birmingham as Diamond Sponsor, alongside valued support from Awan Real Estate Ltd, Barclays Eagle Lab, Blend Creative Media, Highfield Insurance Consultants, Hollywood Monster, Pyvital, South & City College Birmingham, and The Mortgage Department.

The evening also featured spectacular performances from Wuzzamill, Hit the Dhol, Otis Sax, Eloquent Dance, and The Undercover Artists, with stilt walkers adding to the night’s vibrant atmosphere.
Among the other highlights, Ed James and Marverine Cole were crowned Brummie of the Year (Male) and (Female)respectively, recognised for their outstanding contributions to media and community life in Birmingham. Special Recognition Awards were presented to Manj and Amma of Purple Square AV, photographer Edwin Ladd, and Naeem Arif who has been an incredible supporter of B Events – all honoured for their loyalty, passion, and long-standing support of the Birmingham Awards.
As the Birmingham Awards celebrated its 10th anniversary, the night belonged to Ozzy Osbourne – the “Prince of Darkness” who became one of Birmingham’s brightest lights. His daughter’s heartfelt tribute reminded everyone why his spirit, his story, and his sound will forever be part of the city’s soul.
